Privacy and cookies.

We are a small Danish company that makes fishing gear. We collect as little about you as we can, we never sell it, and we only use cookies for marketing if you say yes.
Who is responsible
KetteGear ApS, CVR 37136115, Denmark, is the data controller for the personal data described here.
Questions about your data: info@kettegear.dk or +45 41 65 54 56.
When you visit the site
- Hosting. The site runs on Vercel. To deliver the pages and keep them safe, Vercel's servers handle your IP address and browser details for a short time.
- Visitor statistics. We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and does not identify you: page views are counted with a code that changes every day and cannot be traced back to a person.
- Fonts. Our fonts are stored on our own site, so no request goes to Google Fonts.
- Videos. Our films are on YouTube. The preview pictures are fetched from YouTube's image server (i.ytimg.com), which sees your IP address. The video player itself only loads when you press play, and it uses YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com).
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure site and knowing which pages are used (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
Cookies
The site sets no cookies unless you accept them in the cookie banner. If you accept, we load the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. It lets us measure our ads on Facebook and Instagram and show them to people who are likely to care about fishing gear. Meta sets cookies such as _fbp (kept up to 90 days) and receives information about which pages you visit.
When we advertise on Google, accepting also loads the Google tag (Google Ads) from Google Ireland Ltd. It tells us whether a visit came from one of our ads and whether you then pressed an order button. Google sets cookies such as _gcl_au (kept up to 90 days). Google's use of the data is described in Google's advertising policy.
We store your answer in your browser (kg-consent in local storage) so we do not ask again. The legal basis is your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a) and the Danish cookie rules). You can change your mind at any time:
Meta is jointly responsible with us for collecting the data through the pixel; Meta's own use of the data is described in Meta's privacy policy.
When you order, write to us or apply as a dealer
When you order by email, write to us or apply to become a dealer, we receive the details you send, typically your name, address, email and phone number, and for shops the company name and VAT number.
- We use them to answer you, deliver your order, send invoices and handle complaints (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)).
- Danish bookkeeping law requires us to keep invoices and order records for 5 years after the end of the financial year (art. 6(1)(c)).
- Emails that do not lead to an order are deleted when they are no longer needed, and at the latest after 3 years.
- On our dealer list we only show the shop's business name, town and website. We never publish private customers.
